A franchise is a form of business organisation in which a business who already has a successful product or service (franchisor) enters into a continuing contractual relationship with other businesses operating under the franchisor's trade name and usually with the franchisors guidance, in exchange for a fee.

These contain terms dealing with the length of the franchise agreement, the appointed territory, fees payable to the franchisor, support, restrictions and termination provisions.
